As supermarket shelves are restocked in the coming weeks, you will likely spot a difference in the appearance of the bottles used for our tomato-based sauces, including Wattie’s Tomato Sauce, Ketchup, BBQ Sauce, Steak Sauce, and Heinz Ketchup.
The best news is the recipes and taste of our classic sauces have not changed.
The original material which is used to make clear bottles for Wattie’s and Heinz sauce products is no longer available to our packaging manufacturer. We have had to switch to an alternative. The only alternative material available at this time has impacted how the bottles look, giving the bottle a slightly milky or hazy appearance.
The sauce itself is unchanged and not affected in any way by the change in the bottle’s appearance. It is still the great tasting sauce we all love.
